Hey guys, Every month I will be posting my most favorite quote for each month from message boards….just thought it would be fun. I know that many of the quotes you will need context to understand lol, but I am willing to give context if need be so just ask away. I can also see this feature as a means for good healthy theological or Random discussions…..so heres the first EVER..haha….Be easy, one!

“If you don’t know….Let me inform you….Using the Book of Wisdom as if its inspired against a Protestant is highly irrevelant. Not to mention Early Mystical Church Fathers. I take it that you agree with everything the Early Church Fathers believe. I don’t believe you do, but requiring us to do so is very unsportmens of you. And the Book of James is true. God doesn’t tempt us to sin. He does ordain sinful acts. Once again, The Trinity before the foundations of the Earth decreed sinful men to crucify Christ. No getting around it.” Sylvester Pittman aka Seal

Well. let’s see. I don’t think i would have guessed Seal, but now that i know it is from him, i’m guessing this was directed at JNorm? lol.

  2. RoLDaN says:

LOL….yeah…..what you think about the Eastern Father dudes? I’ve been doing more studies on them lately and wow, they believed some weird stuff that they get from Taoism and all that mystical stuff. For example they believed in what they call “the Deification of Man” they claim that the original intent of man was to become gods but not God hence their “Gods energies” teaching. Sounds like a Christianized version of Eastern thought teaching of “Nirvana”. What you think bro?

  3. jnorm says:

We didn’t get our view from Taoism. We got it from the Bible, Jesus, and the Apostles themselves. Also, it’s not just the Eastern Fathers. It’s from both the Eastern and Western Fathers. Rome has a similar view and so it’s not just us. You are reading what you want to believe into them instead of simply trying to understand them correctly.

  4. RoLDaN says:

Nowhere in scripture does it teach that mans primary purpose was to eventually become diefied bro…….if so please present some, thanx

  5. RoLDaN says:

Therefore if the Apostles handed this teaching down then it should obviously be in Holy Writ.

  6. jnorm says:

A former JW, Reformed protestant, and Roman Catholic already wrote something about it. I’m still working on my paper about something else.deification in the bible

  7. jnorm says:

He also did one about the fathers as well.deification in church fathers

  8. RoLDaN says:

Just wanted some Scripts…..at least one or two to chew on. Not really looking for an explanation. I have read EO websites teachings on it and all I find is quotes from Fathers no exegesis.

  9. John Mark says:
